Great things

Great things

"To achieve great things, two things are needed; a plan, and not quite enough time." ~Leonard Bernstein

This quote, often attributed to Leonard Bernstein, provides some interesting insight into productivity. While a plan is undoubtedly crucial, having a bit of urgency can be a game-changer.

Consider Parkinson's Law which I've discussed before; it's a concept stating that work expands to fill the time available for its completion. If you're given a week to complete something, it's likely you'll use the entire week. However, when faced with a nearly impossible deadline, you may surprise yourself with how much you can accomplish.

Harnessing the power of a plan and intentionally setting challenging timelines can do wonders for your productivity. Challenge yourself to break free from the comfort of excess time, and you might find that the pressure pushes you to exceed your own expectations.

Give it a try, and you may be pleasantly surprised by the results. The combination of a plan and a sense of urgency can unlock your potential and lead to truly great things.
