Taste of home
“Where we love is home, home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts.” ~ Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr.
I've been off the grid writing-wise for a bit, but I'm back at it. I traveled home for Mother's Day weekend, and it was so nice! I always like to have a trip back to the US planned, and I couldn't have picked a better weekend for it. The weather was pretty much perfect, and it was wonderful to celebrate my Mom. We did some gardening, went shopping, got facials, cooked together, and had a lovely lunch out with Dad and my brother. My only regret is not spending more time there, but I'll plan to go back again soon.
I love my life in London, but I also really love visiting home to see my family. Next time, I'll definitely plan a longer trip to catch up with more family and friends. Once we finish our house, we’ll be excited to invite folks across the pond to visit us in London. Home is truly where the heart is, and my heart is often both in London and Boston. This trip was a reminder to me just how important it is to cherish these moments.
PS. I tried my hand at baking and made this strawberry shortcake from scratch.
