“Words create sentences; sentences create paragraphs; sometimes paragraphs quicken and begin to breathe.” ~Stephen King, On Writing

In the wise words of Stephen King from his book On Writing, he notes, "Words create sentences; sentences create paragraphs; sometimes paragraphs quicken and begin to breathe." I love this sentiment. Anyone can string together words and form paragraphs, that's the structure of writing, but when your writing takes on a life of its own, that's when the magic happens.

King's insight got me thinking about the intentionality of my own writing - a desire for commitment to breathe life into my words deliberately. When I embarked on this writing journey, it began with a flurry of words, writing a few times a week to find a rhythm. Now, as the dust settles, I've committed to sharing my musings at least once a week, every Friday. And who knows, perhaps even more when inspiration strikes.

There's another nugget of wisdom attributed to King: "amateurs sit and wait for inspiration, the rest of us just get up and go to work." It's a reminder that inspiration doesn't always strike on demand. However, if you're seated with pen in hand, patiently waiting, soon enough your pen will meet the page. It's important to stay the course, and remain committed and consistent, if you want to elevate your writing.

All in all, it's not just about waiting for the muse to arrive; in fact, it's more about showing up and putting in the work to ensure your writing comes to life.
