Embracing authenticity

Embracing authenticity

"I have come to believe over and over again that what is most important to me must be spoken, made verbal and shared, even at the risk of having it bruised or misunderstood." ~Audre Lorde

Thank you, Audre Lorde, for these profound words. Lorde, an American writer and feminist, spoke her truth, advocating for the empowerment of marginalized communities and encouraging individuals to embrace their differences.

I've always shied away from sharing my thoughts publicly. It's not the act of sharing that I've found challenging, but rather the anticipation of potential reactions, I think. Even my Facebook page feels like sacred ground, a space I've protected. I'm not saying I have anything on Audre, but I do feel a sense of responsibility to be authentically myself and contribute positively to this world.

Perhaps, in this complex world, being authentically yourself and sharing what matters, regardless of how others might perceive you, is a meaningful starting point.
